The Dallas Builder is a cross functional position that performs many jobs necessary to build and package doors and frames. The Builder will build both simple and complex doors. The Builder acts as a back-up CNC operator. The Builder is cross-trained to perform the following Assembly positions: Material Handler, Saw Operator, Lock Bench, Glazer, Inspector and Pack-out. The Dallas Builder is also cross-trained to assist the Warehouse department when needed.

Dallas team members follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE: safety glasses and steel toe shoes. The team works safely to ensure that employees do not harm themselves or others. The team uses care and respect to ensure that company resources (time, equipment, property, etc.) are used appropriately. The team works together to keep the production floor clean.

All team members are required to support the Tubelite Continuous Improvement and Lean Culture. This includes: standardizing work, actively participating in team meetings, actively participating on problems solving and Kaizen teams, and submitting suggestions to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity. In addition, team members strive to sustain and improve the 5S Workplace Organization (Scan/Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain).

Responsibilities

  • Using hand and light power tools, assemble simple and complex doors per specification
  • Perform other assembly duties including picking material, cutting material, glazing material, applying hardware, packing and inspecting finished doors and frames
  • Train less experienced Assembly team members to build all types of doors, including complex doors, and perform all other Assembly functions necessary to build and package doors and frames
  • Act as a back-up CNC Operator to machine both doors and frames
  • Complete production and data collection documents
  • Assist the Warehouse department when needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Perform 5S duties as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 6 months manufacturing experience
  • Ability to correctly and efficiently build doors, including complex doors
  • Basic computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent attendance and dependability
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and work orders
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer demands when required
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand/walk for minimum of 8 hours
  • Ability to frequently move product up to 50 pounds and occasionally move product up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to frequently bend, lift, push, pull, and twist while carrying product

Preferred

  • Previous assembly experience
  • Previous CNC Operator experience
