Company Description

Assists the Wellness Manager in planning, implementing, and evaluating an efficient wellness program consistent with the students; needs and Job Corps goals and objectives serving students 16 to 26 years old.

Job Description
  • Provides patient care, assessment, triage, and treatment.
  • Provides input to RN , Center Physician, and Center Mental Health Consultant for case management of student health issues.
  • Executes student orientation to Health Services.
  • Assists Health Services Administrator with center wide staff training requirements.
  • Promotes and projects activities that support health and safety throughout the center.
  • (STD's Diabetes, Weight Program)
  • Sickle cell, HBP, Asthma, Family Planning & Parenting Clinics
  • Provides for written standing orders on department and procedures for health care
  • Acts as liaison for Wellness Classroom and Center Life dormitories.
  • Assures maintenance of medical records in accordance with PRH standards and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assists health Services Administrator with monitoring Health Services expenditures to comply with established contract and budgets. Performs quality assurance record audits.
  • Participates in department system for student feedback and concerns.
  • Provides on call services and emergency care including first aid and CPR; facilitates provision of emergency services on and off center.
  • Complies with OSHA requirements
  • Assists Health Service Administrator with medication management including monthly inventory and ordering of stock medication/vaccines; weekly count and monitoring of controlled substances, and daily ordering and monitoring of student prescriptions to assure safety of medications and vaccines.
  • Maintains accurate records for ordering, storage, administration, and disposal of medication/vaccines.
  • Implements infection control measures in Health Services and assists in monitoring center wide infection control.
  • Assists in monitoring use, maintenance, and disposal of supplies and equipment in Health Services.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. One year of related experience and/or training is necessary.

    Education:

    Diploma from an accredited Practical Nurse Program

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    Current LPN license from the Commonwealth or State; current BLS/CPR certification
