Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our Marketing team. In this role, the Communications Specialist will assume responsibility for a diverse range of written and digital content, while providing valuable assistance in coordinating both internal and external events involving employees, clients, and our non-profit initiatives. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager in Texas and work closely with the Digital Design Manager and Corporate Communications Manager.
As an integral part of Colliers Engineering & Designs internal marketing efforts, the Communications Coordinator will contribute essential support to enhance the marketing work-flow. Key responsibilities include executing strategic communications strategies, assisting in engagement and event marketing initiatives, and demonstrating qualities such as creativity, organizational skills, ambition, adaptability, and a proactive approach to offering support.


Responsibilities

  • This position will work closely with the digital media and communications team and report to the Senior Marketing Manager for Texas.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to promote the firm's reputation, culture, and services.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors' communication strategies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain up to date media list for press releases and external company announcements.
  • Maintain project awareness and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Provide regular updates to the marketing team on the status of marketing projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create compelling content.
  • Assist internal and external event logistics, ensuring seamless execution and maximum impact.
  • Collaborate with the office designated Employee Experience Committee member to brainstorm, plan, and execute monthly employee engagement events.
  • Support the Colliers Engineering & Design Foundation in coordinating volunteer initiatives involving employees.
  • Create engaging written and digital content for various internal channels
  • Collect relevant content, including employee accomplishments, milestones, and noteworthy information to be disseminated within the company.
  • Seek or create organic media content such as project photos and videos for social media, websites, and newsletters.
  • Obtain project photos and renderings from industry partners.
  • Ability to navigate through the company's Client Relationship Management (CRM) program.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience within a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or English is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing skills including strong grammar and ability to comply within design and editorial standards/styles.
  • Attention to detail, task management, and time management.
  • Ability to work in an environment based on constructive criticism toward excellence.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual self-starter.
  • Ability to comprehend and translate technical material into an accessible written narrative offered to a broad audience.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Personable phone manner and interviewing skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms.
