Job Summary:

The Regional Executive Director will be responsible for supervision of the Program directors in the assigned region. Duties will include supervision, monitoring, evaluations, working closely with funding source(s), interacting with the agency corporate office and exploring new program opportunities within the region. All duties will be performed based on supervisory training, with minimal supervision. The Regional Executive Director is directly supervised by the Chief Operations Officer or designee. This position is subject to work overtime and be on-call.

Essential Functions:
    Represents Southwest Key Programs, Inc. in a positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, funding sources, suppliers and the communities we serve. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients, students, families and other customers of our services, learns and uses operating practices of the department and Southwest Key Programs, Inc.
  • Upholds the Mission of Southwest Key Programs, Inc.
  • Handles confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Maintains all required trainings and certification.
  • Ability to meet and maintain all requirements in reference of Background Checks, Driver Eligibility and Drug Screening.
  • Provides leadership, supervision and is a positive role model to all employees, volunteers, and/or contractors assigned to include but not limited to:
    • Recruitment and hiring
    • Delegates and directs the work of others
    • Coaching and staff training
    • Ensure outcomes are met
    • Employee guidance and development
    • Monitor staff performance
    • Ensure all policies, procedures, contract requirements are adhered to
    • Creation and constant renewal of the work environment as outlined in the employee guidebook
    • Be a strong and creative resource in all departmental areas
    • Address all problematic work performance in accordance with company policy
    • Ensure all company and program administrative responsibilities are met
    • Ensure staff meetings are held monthly
    • Comply with all employment and labor laws
    • Responsible for overall safety of the department/program
  • Ensure that programs and all employees in their region are knowledgeable and closely follow their program contract requirements and that the program is run in a high-quality and exceeds contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain, in concert with Program Director, a monthly monitoring procedure to be utilized by the program management to ensure high-quality services that meet contract, licensing and agency policy requirements.
  • Develop positive relationships with funding sources and ensure all documentation and reports are provided to the funding source(s) as required.
  • Assist Program Director in developing creative ways to motivate and recognize staff, keep staff morale high and maintain good employee retention.
  • Maintain regular and open communication with Program Director and staff.
  • Maintain clear and complete documentation on personnel issues
  • Provide oversight of budget development and overall financial health of the program; train and assist Program Directors to develop and maintain their budget.
  • Enhance program services and maintain fiscally responsible programs by seeking supplemental funding for the program in concert with Program Directors.
  • Monitor and assist, as necessary, to ensure that programs maintain community involvement.
  • Ensure that all programs incorporate a youth development/leadership components including a youth advisory council.
  • Performs all other duties assigned
Other Functions:
  • Participate in and coordinate regional hiring for all staff when necessary.
  • Participate in contract negotiations as needed.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:

A combination of one of the following:

  • Master's degree in a social service or related field, with at least three (3) years of experience managing programs serving at risk youth and families with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field with at least five (5) years of experience managing programs serving at risk youth and families with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Supervisory experience in monitoring and quality assurance of behavior/case management, budget management, personnel management, conflict resolution, cultural diversity awareness, overall office management, group or family counseling, youth services, residential, educational or institutional settings and advocacy.
  • Clear result from a criminal background check.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to travel as often as needed to maintain quality programs.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in direct services with at risk student populations.
Physical Demands:

Must be able to drive and travel as needed. Daily use of various office equipment. Bending, stooping, climbing up stairs and lifting up to 15 lbs. required to complete tasks.

Work Environment:

This position oversees programs in various cities and requires travel to program locations. Work schedule is subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. This position may require extended periods of time in an automobile. Exposed to prevalent weather conditions.
