Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for the review and ongoing administration of a variety of contracts in support of Commodity Trading. Working with legal and internal customer groups, responsible for negotiating, and administering contractual documents (including, EEIs, NAESBs, ISDAs, pipeline transport and storage agreements, confirmations) that establish business relationships with vendors, customers and partners. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to Calpine policies, government specifications and other requirements. At more senior levels, regularly communicates with contracting parties on all aspects concerning fulfillment of contractual obligations. Supports Calpine staff by responding to contract analysis requests; conducts analysis in connection with transactions, litigation document management and discovery responses including assisting legal counsel with research, filings, and document preparation. Other responsibilities include managing contract files and databases, administering contract amendments and tracking critical dates, maintaining insurance certifications and service agreements in support of contract administration, and supporting Retail's Legal department with various tasks including customer complaints. Serves as subject matter expert regarding Calpine's Authority Limits Policies and Purchasing and Contracting Policy and regularly fields questions or interpret their application. Coordinates risk controls. Responds to internal/external audit requests. Responsible for completing state compliance filings on behalf of retail entities.
