The Payroll Specialist will support the Payroll Manager to ensure that US personnel and partners are compensated in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with all applicable payroll and tax laws. This position is based in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare payroll for employees and partners in domestic offices on a semi-monthly basis
  • Provide payroll guidance to all offices and verify all data; research and resolve payroll related questions
  • Enter payroll changes in the system
  • Enter special payroll calculations such as proration of wages, gross-up of earnings, etc.
  • Prepare off-cycle manual payroll checks, as needed
  • Audit payroll processes to assure an accurate data is in the system
  • Prepare tax filing, including oversee tax filing with third party vendor
  • Process multi-state garnishments
  • Assist with balancing of payroll each pay period

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of payroll of experience in a professional environment
  • FPC or CPP preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Workday or similar system
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma is required
  • Exposure to in-house payroll processing
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and garnishments
  • General understanding of payroll laws, tax laws and work visas
  • Demonstrates good judgment, maintains personal integrity and high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and accountability for delivering excellent service
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Maintains a calm and professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate to advanced experience in Excel
  • Self-starter who is committed to the job, with flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Critical to have consistent schedule and meet payroll processing deadlines
