This entry-level position in our U.S. / Mexico CrossBorder office puts you in the middle of the fast-paced, complex world of integrated logistics. You will interact with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors to provide a wide range of internal and external customers with door-to-door logistics packages. You will daily communicate with an ever developing list of customers face to face, over the phone, and in e-mail in both English and Spanish in order to understand their needs and provide them international logistics. In many cases you will act as the lead coordinator organizing transportation, customs brokerage, and warehousing in order to get the right product to the right place at the right time and right price.
You will be challenged daily to juggle and reprioritize multiple initiatives, with a keen eye for accuracy and completeness. Youll have two phones on your desk and should expect to receive several hundred e-mails per day. You will be surrounded by team members with specialized knowledge and years of experience solving similar challenges for their customers. Youll make decisions and solve problems.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Sell all CHRW services to existing customers (needs to be knowledgeable in all)
- Develop relationships with existing customers to increase CHRW penetration of accounts, count of services sold, and percent of total transportation spend
- Take customer orders for various services including (US customs brokerage, Mexican customs brokerage, drayage, truckload, less than truckload, intermodal, warehouse operations, and air)
- Work with internal CHRW resources to design and implement logistics solutions for accounts managed
- Deliver timely updates to customers, vendors, and government authorities
- Assist outside sales staff in the set up of new accounts
- Continuously improve processes to increase profitability
- Foster win-win relationships with vendors, customers and the C. H. Robinson employee network
