We are currently seeking a talented
Credit Risk Analyst I for our
San Antonio, TX facility.
As a
Credit Risk Analyst for USAA you will measure, monitor, and analyze historical trends and external factors impacting the credit risk exposure for loan products. You will develop detailed analysis, utilizing sophisticated analytical and financial modeling and statistical techniques to predict, evaluate and manage the credit risk across various loan portfolios. You will assess lending product/portfolio performance specific to credit loss and financial elements. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, perform moderately complex to complex work assignments and problem resolution.
Job Duties:
- Acquires and applies broad knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
- Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root causes, and develops work products.
- Performs multiple team roles (team member, team co-leader) in the development and implementation of key initiatives.
- Recognizes appropriate credit risk strategies to be developed and implemented.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of relevant business support and/or general analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applicable databases.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools including skills to develop analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, and other business intelligence and analysis software applications for data segmentation, aggregation, and statistics.
- Working knowledge of industry data sources.
- Working knowledge of gathering and documenting data requirements and analyzing these requirements from a business perspective.
Preferred:
- Graduate Degree in Economics, Statistics, or Actuarial Sciences or similar disciplines.
- 6+ year of financial and/or Credit Risk analysis experience.
- Strong modeling experience.
- Strong experience in SAS.
- Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data.
- Advanced statistical and analytical skills including: survival analysis, forecasting time series, score-cards or custom score development and validation.
- Proficient in SQL data retrieval languages.
- Understanding of the Banking business and financial concepts.
- Current or recent experience in Marketing Analytics or Actuary.
