The Director, Specialized Teams for the Network Contract Support will provide leadership, development and strategic direction of contract administration including the development of end to end contracting processes, structure, day to day operations, workforce management and staff development/retention. This role will require collaboration and establishment of matrix linkage to UHG business segments, the regions/markets within UHN and support of corporate business initiatives. This position serves in a national role and will work with functional operational areas across all regions to ensure processes, metrics and service levels are compliant and maximize the business segment partner and provider experience. Responsible for meeting standards and key performance indicators pertaining to contract administration.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage operational performance of Specialized Teams to ensure performance standards are met, including but not limited to timely processing of contracts, accurate contract loading to all business segment platforms and products, provider maintenance activities, network integration and recontracting/development initiatives.
  • Manage and establish processes necessary to support the markets/regions including but not limited to contract issuance, medical group contract execution, maintenance, research and resolution, errors and retros, provider termination processes and contract quality.
  • Establish and implement strategic plans to support the Company's quality and production standards.
  • Establish and implement end to end operational processes that are nationally consistent and standardized with accountability to markets, regions and business segment partners.
  • Oversight and compliance with tracking and management of all business processes, as applicable, to support reporting and metrics for the markets/regions.
  • Supports special projects and initiatives for the markets/regions.
  • Designs, develops, and executes special reports, projects and other analysis to support strategic initiatives, emerging business needs, and segment requests.
  • Establish and maintain Specialized Team quality and productivity standards (qualitative and quantitative) to meet the business requirements.
  • Ensure that proper monitoring measures are in place for meeting quality, TAT and other operational metrics and results. Including trend analysis of process improvements to ensure ongoing improvements are achieved.
  • Practice a management style which encourages growth and development of staff and innovative improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Maintains the contract issuance reporting system and other systems and reporting tools to generate production and inventory reports.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to drive issue resolution as it relates to the services rendered by the Network Contract Support Team.
  • Accountable to internal business partner initiatives (market/region/national) and metrics related to contract administration.
  • Establish a positive working environment that promotes staff retention and satisfaction with results in provider and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Serves as a catalyst for change, actively involved in process and organizational change and development.Builds internal networks and consensus to shape decisions of senior management.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, health care management or 10+ years of healthcare management experience
  • 5+ years in a network management, contracting and/or senior provider relations role.
  • Excellent knowledge of health care and insurance industry.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, promote teamwork and fact based decision making.
  • Strong ability to articulate and manage across an end to end business model.
  • Strong operational background and understanding of operational process and end to end knowledge of network management and contracting.
  • In depth knowledge of the contracting process, credentialing process, provider relations and network data management/systems.
  • Problem solving skills; ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action.
  • Experience and demonstrated success in managing and motivating a large diverse staff in multiple locations and the ability to effectively resolve problems with other departments and at all management levels.
  • Strong independent decision maker and risk taker.
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams
  • Innovative in problem solving, planning and strategizing.
