We are currently seeking a talented Sr Business Analyst for our San Antonio, TX facility.


As a Sr. Business Analyst for USAA, you will assemble key participants and guides and facilitates teams in the development and implementation of business solutions, serving as a subject matter expert and point-of-contact. You will prepare business-related analyses and research in one or more of the following areas: planning and forecasting, workload/capacity planning, product performance, campaign performance, process performance, financial impact analysis, and member behavior analysis. Facilitates and participates in the definition of business problems and opportunities, and in the development of data and analytical requirements. Collaborates with team members to resolve issues of a complex nature and problem resolution across systems, processes or channels.


JOB DUTIES


  • Analyzes trends, develops algorithms and models, prepares results and presents findings and/or recommendations to identify new opportunities, to improve business results, or to explain impact of business initiatives or strategies.
  • Identifies and understands the intended goals of the project/effort/request and identifies roadblocks. Applies advanced knowledge of the business, channels and their applications and processes.
  • Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work product. Considers interdependencies with other efforts.
  • Synthesizes the analysis and develops advanced level analytical recommendations. Partitions the analysis/effort into manageable pieces and applies practical methods of solution, As appropriate, independently creates project plans and framework for communication plans to defined state.
  • Considers interdependencies with other efforts and identifies impacts and alternatives as appropriate. Guides team members in the development and delivery of their work product. Serves as a mentor to peers and team members for assigned area of responsibility.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience).
  • Six or more years of relevant business and/or general analysis experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and Access.
  • Intermediate knowledge of statistics or other quantitative techniques or disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of relevant data analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry data sources.


Preferred:


  • Advanced mathematical and statistical modeling skills (For example but not limited to: logistic regression, survival analysis, NPV modeling, neural net, clustering, optimization, Discrete Choice Modeling).
  • High degree of integrative thinking, being able to solve unprecedented problems.
  • Solid communications skills, being able to (in written and verbal) communicate finding of complex analysis and ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Masters (or equivalent work experience) in quantitative disciplines like, economics, engineering, math, statistics etc.
  • These positions will be tasked with driving and embedding the enterprise Price Elasticity of demand and revenue programs, Lifetime value and portfolio (product) optimization agenda for USAA.
  • High degree of competence with SAS (data step and proc's) and SQL.
  • Experience working as a consultant.
