Position Description

Capital One’s Plano, TX campus has multiple Data Analyst opportunities to support our Auto Finance and Mortgage LOB. Typical scope of work includes analyzing complex data structures to generate useful business insights; developing reporting to monitor business critical results; working with internal partners on statistics-related projects; and supporting leadership team with data consultation, data gathering, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

Quantitative and qualitative analysis
Communicate with business customers to establish data requirements
Create tools or queries to obtain data from central data repository for the purposes of reporting and analysis
Present final analysis to customers
Participate on project teams

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in any quantitative field (business, math, economics, finance, statistics, science, engineering, information technology)
1 year experience in programming / data extraction / SAS / SQL / Excel and Access
1 year experience in data analysis or business analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in quantitative major such as Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science
Teradata certification, SAS certification, UNIX certification
3+ years experience in data analysis or business analysis
3+ years experience in programming
Experience in the auto finance or mortgage industry
Knowledge of Business Intelligence Processes and Data Modeling
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Project management experience
Ability to work well with customers and co-workers
