Community Outreach to Women

Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse is a private non-profit (501)(c)(3) organization that has been serving families trapped in the cycle of family violence since 1980. Only AVDA works to break this cycle by intervening with both the victim and the abuser.

Alley's House was formed in February 1997, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation on the heels of the Welfare Reform Act of 1996. There was a need within the community to provide services to teen mothers. Our mission: empowering teen mothers and their children to achieve independence through support services, education and mentoring. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive case management services, tutoring and life skill workshops.

Mission The Arlington Life Shelter provides short-term shelter and support services that help our neighbors who are homeless integrate into society and become contributors to a thriving community.

The Atascosa Family Crisis Center, Inc. (AFCC) was organized in April 1992 as a tax-exempt, 501(c) (3), non-profit corporation. Our purpose is to provide victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking assistance and support, enabling them to gain the strength they need to make changes in their lives.

The Family Crisis Center envisions a safe community built on equality without the existence of violence.

Bay Area Turning Point, Inc. provides recovery solutions services for survivors of family violence and sexual assault and facilitates violence prevention strategies for societal change in partnership with our community.

The Bridge exists to assist women, children and men in crisis’, particularly those who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault or homeless situations.

The mission of Brighter Tomorrows is to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Originally an outreach project of Brigid's Place but now a separate non-profit organization, Brigid's Hope provides homeless women coming out of Texas prisons and jails with transitional housing, mentoring, spiritual support, and coordination of resources at New Hope Housing's Hamilton Street Residence in downtown Houston. The project is funded by Episcopal Health Charities, the Clayton Fund, and the Powell Foundation, approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and administered by Twila Ross.

Mercy Ministries of Laredo is an outreach ministry of the Sisters of Mercy Health System serving the people of Laredo and Webb County in Texas. We provide culturally sensitive physical, spiritual and emotional care through services available through our healthcare services, domestic violence shelter, education center and nutrition program.

Our Mission is to provide crisis and prevention services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The agency provides a safe environment where an individual can make educated non-biased decisions about their future.

Cross Timbers Family Services (CTFS) is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing hope, help and healing to victims of violent crime, including domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Sister Mary Virginia Clark began DWC with Abba House in 1989. Her heart was for the homeless men, women, and children she saw on the streets of Amarillo. It wasn’t long before her work evolved into caring for homeless women with addictions and their children.

Dress for Success Dallas is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success Dallas responds to the needs of our community by providing programs that help economically disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their positions and succeed in the mainstream workplace.

Dress for Success Worldwide is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women located in 78 cities across the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and New Zealand. The professional clothing, employment retention programs and ongoing support that we provide our clients symbolize our faith in every woman’s ability to be self-sufficient and successful in her career.
