Alley's House Alley's House was formed in February 1997, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation on the heels of the Welfare Reform Act of 1996. There was a need within the community to provide services to teen mothers. Our mission: empowering teen mothers and their children to achieve independence through support services, education and mentoring. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive case management services, tutoring and life skill workshops. |

Strauss Family Gateway Center Family Gateway, in cooperation with the religious community, private sector and governmental entities, provides comprehensive services to children whose families are in crisis: counseling, temporary housing, job search and placement assistance, transitional living apartments and community transition services. The program offers training and counseling which are intended to restore dignity, stability and self-sufficiency to the family unit. All programs and environments are designed to create an atmosphere of emotional, social and economic empowerment. |

Brigid's Hope Originally an outreach project of Brigid's Place but now a separate non-profit organization, Brigid's Hope provides homeless women coming out of Texas prisons and jails with transitional housing, mentoring, spiritual support, and coordination of resources at New Hope Housing's Hamilton Street Residence in downtown Houston. The project is funded by Episcopal Health Charities, the Clayton Fund, and the Powell Foundation, approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and administered by Twila Ross. |

Central Dallas Ministries - Charlie Mae Ransom Technology Learning Center The Charlie Mae Ransom Technology Learning Center (formerly known as the CyberSpot) is located adjacent to the Roseland Homes Housing Development. We encourage all visitors, especially members of the neighborhood, to learn skills needed to succeed in our information-based economy. Current programs include: basic computer literacy and Microsoft Office training for adults; GED classes; graphic design and web page design; and effective job search training. |

Chinese Community Center Established in 1979 as a Chinese Language School, the Chinese Community Center (CCC) today serves nearly 5,000 families each year through educational, cultural, and social service programs. The services at the CCC are diverse. Today, the Center offers its programs to the community at large. The Asian community’s willingness to share its culture and heritage, while accepting others, has enabled the Center to grow steadily. |

Christian Community Service Center - JobNet JobNet, a ministry of the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), reaches out to Houston job seekers every day. Working closely with CCSC's Emergency Services program, JobNet focuses on helping the underemployed and the working poor - persons who often experience significant barriers to a traditional job search. Our comprehensive program makes an immediate impact on their employment searches, and thus, their lives. |

Citizens Development Center Citizens Development Center was founded in 1951 by parents of mentally challenged children, and was originally called Children's Development Center. When the public school system became responsible for educating special needs children, parents foresaw the mission of CDC shifting accordingly. As these children graduated from public schools, they continued to need specialized services such as job training and placement. The mission of the agency shifted its focus to the vocational training of adults and became known as Citizens Development Center. |
