Your responsibilities

Project Manager for thyssenkrupp Materials Trading NA, LLC in Houston, Texas.

Duties: procure steel products from producers worldwide, including negotiating, arranging, contracting, maintaining, and executing orders with global suppliers and U.S. customers; grow and maintain customer base, and filter and qualify suppliers based upon customer requirements; interpret and analyze international product standards, negotiate logistical and financial issues with global suppliers, and resolve customer and supplier disputes; support procurement, supply chain, and marketing processes; support continuous improvement and quality control initiatives; contribute to ongoing improvement for products, as well as external and internal processes; monitor compliance with legal, state, and federal regulations. 20% domestic and international travel for customer and supplier visits.

Req's: Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Management, or foreign equivalent, and 1 year of experience in an international product trading position in the iron and steel trading industry; in lieu of Bachelor degree and 1 year of experience in an international product trading position in the iron and steel trading industry, will alternatively accept 3 years of experience in an international product trading position in the iron and steel trading industry. Must have 1 year of experience with each of the following: translating commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube product strategies into detailed requirements and prototypes and sample orders; maintaining multi-million dollar key accounts, including facilitating the development of new commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube products; utilizing technical knowledge of commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube product capabilities and limitations to assist customers in making product selections; international sourcing of commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube products, including establishing supply chain strategies for transportation from the supplier to the customer; interpreting international commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube product standards, including analyzing foreign-made products and determining whether or not they meet North American customer specifications and governing standards; developing and implementing long-term supplier and customer growth and development strategies for commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube product trading operations, including product marketing activities; developing risk & compliance management strategies for commodity steel and oil and gas-related pipe and tube products.
