ACARA SOLUTIONS is looking for Forklift Material Handler 1 2nd shift for our Client located in Grand Prairie, TX

This is a temp-to-perm position at a Union Site with 4 months conversion, firm. Excellent benefits and OT available! There is not currently a vaccine mandate at this facility.

2nd shift - 3pm - 1130pm, may require training on 1st shift
$19.79/hr. (+$.60/hr. differential for 2nd shift)
  • Moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand, use of forklifts, crane or pallet jack.
  • Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.
  • Speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Reach, grasp, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull/slide heavy material
  • Have the mobility and dexterity to access the warehouse as necessary
  • Reads transfer orders or receives instructions to determine work assignments and material needs.
  • Examines contents received or ready for shipment and compares them against documents for accuracy.
  • Operates material storage equipment, towers, and carousels.
  • Packs, seals, and labels, products or materials for shipping.
  • Weighs materials or products on scales or other measuring devices.
  • Communicates with Purchasing department to rectify problems (e.g. damages, shortages, Non-conformance to specifications) dealing with vendors.
  • Performs forklift serviceability checklist
  • Performs minor assembly as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
  • Job involves typically working indoors and outdoors, wearing common safety equipment (e.g. cut resistant gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as Materials Handler with Forklift experience
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Forklift certified.
  • Experience with heavy bulk forklift materials (Pallets of Refrigerators, steel beams, cars, etc)
  • Ability to clearly read, speak and write in English for safety purposes
  • Stand up forklift experience highly preferred

Additional Information: Offer is contingent upon successful completion of criminal, education, employment verification, drug test and safety testing.
