What we're looking for

This role will support the Corporate Tax Department and Toyota Financial Services in the area of Tax Operations. The primary responsibilities include use tax accruals review, sales tax audit support and research, tax operations support for TFS field offices, performing operational tax queries, perform monthly tax rate updates, reviewing and responding to IL RUT-25 tax compliance forms, and month-end tax accounting closing processes. This team member will have a variety of routine and non-routine tax functions.

What you'll be doing

Tax Audit Support & Research

  • Prepare reconciliations, data and supporting documentation for audits.
  • Perform tax research as required for tax compliance and audit support.
  • Keep current with legislative tax laws.

Operational Support

  • Perform operational tax queries and monthly tax rate updates.
  • Provide operational tax support to TFS field offices (e.g., Customer Service Centers, Dealer Funding Teams, Dealer Sales and Services Offices).

Tax Compliance Support

  • Pulling purchase data, reconciling and performing use tax accrual review
  • Reviewing and responding to IL RUT-25 forms

Qualifications/ What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications or software tools
  • Strong analytical skills, initiative; ability to multi-task
  • Written and oral communication

Added bonus if you have

  • Master's degree - emphasis in Tax preferred
  • CPA
  • 2+ years in Big 4 accounting firm environment
  • Automotive leasing transactional tax knowledge
