Plano, TX - Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
One of Vaco's midmarket business services clients in the North Dallas area is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant after closing on a recent acquisition. We've worked with the company for several years, having placed folks on both the accounting and finance teams, and have received great feedback on culture and leadership of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management on potential risks and opportunities.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger system by reviewing and reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and ensuring accurate coding of transactions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections. Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Audit Support: Facilitate the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules, providing requested documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
