JOB SUMMARY

The Midstream Engineer is accountable for providing comprehensive support to the Midstream Engineering Team, ensuring the efficient execution of facility and infrastructure projects including pipelines, compressor stations, water transfer stations, and water disposal facilities, in support of the business units. Responsibilities include the development of solutions to enhance the safety and optimize the performance of pipeline networks, compressor stations, gas processing facilities, water transfer facilities, and water disposal facilities. This role necessitates regular collaboration with diverse stakeholders including management, production operations, supply chain, accounting, legal, regulatory, marketing, environmental, and safety departments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise across onshore pipeline, SWD (Salt Water Disposal), water transfer, and compression operations, with a commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.


Job requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a safety leader within organization.

  • Lead MOC, PSSR, PHA, and commissioning programs.
  • Participate in safety and design reviews.
  • Function as primary level of engineering support for midstream operations.
  • Champion process optimization, cost reduction, and emission reduction initiatives.
  • Manage compressor performance optimization.
  • Work with engineering team in the development of equipment specifications.
  • Serve as project manager for pipeline and facility construction projects
  • Develop and track budgets for midstream engineering projects
  • Work with operations to develop maintenance and operating procedures.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on failed equipment.
  • Perform witness tests on new equipment performance runs.
  • Manage time to adhere to defined schedules and deadlines.
  • Proactively communicate project information to all stakeholders


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires strong teamwork skills and adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in pipeline design, process simulation, facilities design, compression operations, and construction oversight
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry codes, design standards, governmental regulations, and safety protocols
  • Experience in management of PHA, PSSR, and safety design processes.
  • Robust communication, interpersonal, and technical aptitude, demonstrated through relationship-building and effective teamwork in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

4 Year/Bachelor's degree; Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or petroleum engineering required


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

3-5 years; Minimum of 5 years of engineering, construction, and project management experience


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Percent of Travel Required: 10-15% Travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training and visits to field locations.
