Job Description

ChampionX is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Chemical Technologies segment located in Sugar Land, Texas. This role will be responsible to install, plan, implement, oversee, and maintain infrastructure equipment, hardware, and / or software.

What You Will Do:

  • Support deployments, monitoring and maintenance of network hardware, software, and communication links focusing on Odessa and Midland, TX Facilities.

  • Monitor and analyze performance and problems that occur in corporate network, identifying and solving problems as rapidly as possible.

  • Oversee network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for supporting circuit provisioning, installation, and troubleshooting.

  • Provide direction and vendor supervision for cabling activities.

  • Perform all activities in keeping with established change management and approval procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience.

  • CCNA or CCNP certification

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in effectively managing small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.

  • Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision, strong customer service and communication skills.

  • After-hours and weekend work may be required.

  • Travel between Odessa and Midland locations will be required based on support demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with managing industrial control system (ICS) networks and IOT connectivity.

  • SD-WAN, Cisco Switching and Wireless Controller experience.

  • Palo Alto Firewall and Panorama experience

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.

  • Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision.
