Job Responsibilities

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Lead a dynamic team of talented professionals, infusing them with the vision and energy of an editor-in-chief guiding a world-class media publication, to craft compelling campaigns and content that deeply resonate with our audience and propel unparalleled success.
  • Manage and mentor a team of brand, strategic communications, content marketing, campaign strategy, marketing strategy, product marketing, and strategic events staff of 30+.
  • Spearhead the development of campaign strategy, product positioning, and messaging by intimately understanding our audience and customer needs.
  • Oversee the execution of campaign, content, and product marketing initiatives with precision and flair.
  • Take charge of comprehensive market and audience research initiatives to drive informed decision-making and strategic direction, harnessing market intelligence and audience insights to their fullest potential.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Planning:

  • Forge partnerships with sales, customer success, operations, and product management to establish the go-to-market strategy for new products and/or enhancements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop GTM strategies to propel cross-sell, upsell, new market entry, displacement, pilots, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, particularly within marketing program management, customer success, and sales, to implement and drive GTM strategies with precision and effectiveness.
  • Direct the deployment of integrated campaigns, orchestrating consistent messaging across all touchpoints and program families to maximize impact.
  • Own the content innovation roadmap, identifying opportunities to achieve business objectives and create transformative customer experiences.

Content Development and Management:

  • Collaborate closely with program management, brand management, strategic communications, sales, product, and curriculum teams to craft strategic messaging frameworks that underpin collateral, campaigns, themes, and solutions.
  • Work closely with our Chief Learning Officer and Vice President of Curriculum and Assessment to turn our body of thought into effective thought leadership content.
  • Oversee the creation of source documents and messaging frameworks for distribution to adjacent and downstream teams, ensuring alignment and clarity.
  • Lead the development of product positioning and messaging that speaks directly to our audience's needs and pain points, prioritizing empathy and understanding.
  • Ensure that content is laser-focused on addressing buyer needs and providing solutions, whether for customers, partners, or sales.
  • Partner with marketing program teams to optimize content effectiveness in driving funnel volume and velocity.
  • Provide visionary leadership as the head of the Cross-Functional Content Editorial Board, driving alignment and focus across the organization.
  • Direct resource distribution for optimal campaign performance and strategic alignment, guiding content strategy and product marketing execution to new heights.
  • Oversee end-to-end content creative development and production, orchestrating seamless collaboration with team members, vendors, and contractors to bring visions to life.
  • Guarantee that content aligns seamlessly with overall brand and campaign vision and strategy, maintaining consistency and integrity throughout.

Market Research and Insights:

  • Lead strategic customer engagement programs as the Executive Sponsor, fostering thought leadership and customer advocacy through internal and external brand ambassadors and customer advisory boards.
  • Take the lead on comprehensive market research efforts, including Win/Loss, Intelligence, Total Market Analysis, focus groups, and more.
  • Spearhead customer-facing research initiatives to gather invaluable feedback and insights along the buyer's journey, informing product and content marketing strategies.
  • Drive strategic partnerships with sales through initiatives like the Sales Advisory Board and Sales Enablement Marketing Support Strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the research team to embed insights into product and content marketing frameworks, synthesizing customer feedback into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in product marketing and/or content marketing at a SaaS company, within the Education Market, Literacy Market Preferred.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, with a track-record of helping team members achieve their goals.
  • Require in-depth knowledge and application of Pragmatic Marketing, SiriusDecisions campaign and programs framework, and SiriusDecisions content marketing frameworks for effective development and execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to be highly conceptual, deliver vision for content creation combined with the ability to create an environment where each person on the Market & Messaging Strategy Team knows how their content contribution connects to full funnel marketing programs.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared outcomes for the business.
  • Proven ability to work with product and go-to-market teams to bring new products to market and meet or over-achieve goals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal storytelling ability, including synthesizing insights and ideas into simple, succinct narratives.
  • Strong ability to understand complex considerations and then frame in a simple manner to drive collective understanding, alignment, and decision-making.
  • Experience using customer, competitive and market intelligence to inform content roadmap and GTM strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time depending on conference season.
