Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Administrator to provide administrative support to our Legal Department in our Detroit, MI office, remotely from your home-office or any of our U.S. based offices such as: Kennesaw, GA, Boca Raton, FL, Chicago, IL, Lyndhurst, NJ, Knoxville, TN, Raleigh, NC, Philadelphia, PA, Houston, TX, Portland, OR, Salt Lake City, UT. The position plays a critical role in providing an excellent professional and responsive support to project teams and other members of the legal department. Primary responsibilities include facilitating the review of contract-related documents by others on the department, assisting project teams with information needed to execute project work, supporting the payment of invoices, assisting with certificates of insurance, maintaining the company's accounts on supplier management platforms (i.e., Avetta, ISNetwork, Ariba, etc.), and providing general support services to the legal department and the company.. This position requires strong attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Answer questionnaires and upload the company's professional licenses and certificates of insurance to clients' supplier management platforms; work with project teams obtain answers to questionnaires; maintain compliance status;
  • Assist others in the Legal Department with the management and distribution of certificates of insurance; respond to questions regarding project related insurance requirements; request certificates of insurance as needed; maintain record of requests; apply for bonds as needed by projects;
  • Coordinate the submission of invoices for payment; maintain records of payment requests;
  • Assist others in the Legal Department to collect and review documents responsive to subpoenas or document requests served on the firm. Assist with tasks as assigned by the General Counsel;
  • Assist and support the corporate operations of the company by helping the other corporate departments, such as the HR department, IT department, and Accounting;
  • Assist others in the Legal Department with the management of litigation holds and ethical walls; maintain ethical wall database;
  • Respond to questions from around the company on subjects managed by the Legal Department;
  • Organize departmental files; maintain department's SharePoint site; and
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Graduation from university, community college or equivalent, and at least two (2) years of related paralegal, legal assistant, or legal support services in a law firm or in-house legal department with experience to include effective working knowledge and skills with office procedures, terminology, and office equipment and computers in a Windows environment; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.   • Accurate typing skills of a minimum of 40 to 50 wpm. (required)
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task. (required)
  • Availability to work overtime on short notice as required by project demands. (required)
