Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Measurement Tech within our US Onshore Resources Carbon Management, based in Kermit, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and document product flows throughout assigned points in pipeline systems
  • Calibration and maintenance of electronic and measurement devices
  • Operation and maintenance of a portable gas chromatograph (GC)
  • Installation and troubleshooting of electronic flow data collection systems
  • Schedule, conduct, report and perform GC sampling for measurement settlement tests
  • Perform measurement calibrations and associated tasks in accordance with industry/APC measurement standards
  • Perform installation and repair of natural gas and liquid measurement equipment, to include composite samplers, PD meters, moisture analyzers, oxygen analyzers and valve control
  • Perform calculations for flow coefficients, gas volumes and orifice plate sizes
  • Collect and edit electronic volume data
  • Monitor, identify, and communicate major fluctuations or unusual changes according to product flow in accordance with management/measurement guidelines
  • Periodically check gas meters at key production and pipeline points to ascertain correctness of production or gas/oil flow measurements at onshore locations
  • Prepare various tickets, records and reports noting consumption during elapsed periods of time
  • Installation and troubleshooting of communication systems
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the measurement of oil and gas products and related metering equipment
  • Respond to verification requests; collect actual measurement data
  • Order, receive and stock parts associated with metering equipment
  • Assist with composition of reports on measurement changes and adjustments
  • Witness product purchase meter calibrations and settlement
  • Observe and report all dangerous and damaged conditions pertaining to meters and adjacent area
  • Respond to call out requests and work irregular hours as needed for maintenance, relief, and emergency situations
  • Perform good housekeeping duties as required
  • Work in a safe manner adhering to all safety practices, procedures, and policies

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years gas measurement experience with working knowledge of gas/oil production equipment with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors & the public
  • Possess basic understanding of oil and gas operations, and working knowledge of natural gas process equipment
  • Possess basic understanding of the use, monitoring and repair of various meters used in measuring the flow of natural gas and crude oil products
  • Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Basic working knowledge of electrical and electronic principles
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of instruments, control, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work outside around heavy equipment under variable environmental conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid US driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required
