Job Scope

The Market Access Manager will be responsible for deploying the strategic plan to maximize adoption of Luminex products throughout the product lifecycle by integrating policy and healthcare market dynamics into the business planning cycle. The Market Access Manager will work collaboratively with Marketing, Scientific Affairs, Commercial Sales, and other groups as required to develop, implement and drive adoption of commercial initiatives. The Manager provides coding and coverage guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Director of Market Access to identify opportunities to drive market access strategies to pursue coverage and reimbursement from US commercial payers
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales leadership and strategic accounts to maximize pull-through and leverage available resources for market access.
  • Work with product development, product managers and post-launch marketing teams to develop specific strategies incorporating economic and clinical data supporting products' value proposition.
  • Provide due diligence and evaluate key policy and guidelines that influence clinical utility of molecular diagnostic assays and instrumentation
  • Generate presentation materials, publications, and guidance documents to communicate reimbursement, cost effectiveness and utility of products
  • Initiate HEOR projects, such as systematic literature reviews, global value dossiers, and epidemiologic/observational studies and drive them to completion, resulting in high quality publications
  • Determines how changes in guidelines impact product scope, utility, and reimbursement of the assay pipeline
  • Provide policy and reimbursement education to investigators, clinical monitors, and Global Project Team members related to disease specific information
  • Assists in the development of scientifically accurate marketing materials, medical education programs, advisories, and symposia
  • Implement key policy and reimbursement messages to support commercial activities at tradeshows, medical and scientific congresses, and in customer-facing field activities
  • Interact professionally with clients and thought-leaders to understand their objectives and meet their needs
  • Participate in Commercial team presentations; client visits and programs as needed
  • Participate in product development projects, including strategic development plans and other regulatory documents as needed
  • Attend regional or national professional society and payer meetings/conferences as needed to provide education to gain favorable policy and/or clinical guideline development
  • Keep abreast of professional information and technology through conferences and/or medical literature and acts as a policy resource
  • Supply competitive intelligence (communication with experts, review of literature, etc.)

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree MS/MPH/MSN with relevant experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree required (Preference in Business or Science) required
  • 5+ Years in clinical diagnostics or related industries required
  • 3+ Years previous experience and knowledge of the global healthcare regulatory and reimbursement arena required
  • 3+ Years previous experience and knowledge of IVD development and commercialization process required
  • 4+ Years A blend of entrepreneurial and large company experience; someone who has previously established and implemented effective marketing programs for a rapidly expanding business preferred
  • 2+ Years sales, sales management and business development experience preferred
  • Must have strong analytical skills and ability to tie detailed analysis to inform executive-level strategic decisions (Medium proficiency)
  • Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings (Medium proficiency)
  • Executive presence mandatory (Medium proficiency)
