Senior Product Owner - Conferences Business Solutions Team

Gartner Conferences seeks a highly motivated Senior Product Owner to spearhead our product development initiatives. The Senior Product Owner will serve as the key conduit between various cross-functional teams, translating overarching visions into tangible product deliverables. This role requires adept anticipation and prioritization of client needs, meticulous management of product backlogs, diligent oversight of development stages, continuous evaluation of product progress at each iteration, and mentorship of direct reports and/or peers in product management practices.

What you will do:

  • Ownership of Product Roadmap: Develop, maintain, and execute the product roadmap in alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate closely with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform product strategy, features, and prioritization.
  • Client-Centric Innovation: Gain deep insights into clients' role-specific needs, challenges, workflows, and decision-making processes to drive product innovation and maximize resources and impact.
  • Requirement Translation and Prioritization: Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements or high-level user stories into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria. Prioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, continuously refining priorities and balancing stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborative Execution: Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the successful resourcing and delivery of the product. Work with business owners to ensure deliverables meet requirements and exceed business expectations.
  • Project Progress Visibility: Provide clear visibility on project progress, communicate product releases, and update stakeholders on roadmap progression.
  • Coaching and Best Practice Sharing: Provide coaching and share best practices with direct reports and/or peers on product management and communication strategies.
  • Supporting Conferences and Events: Travel to conferences to support the delivery of a seamless experience, gathering feedback and insights to inform product enhancements.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in coaching and mentoring team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in solving complex problems by thinking creatively and utilizing data-driven insights. Ability to quickly understand intricate business and technology issues and drive them to resolution.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts, and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and align product initiatives with overarching business goals and customer needs.
  • Client-Centric Focus: Strong understanding of customer-centric design principles and methodologies. Experience in gathering and analyzing customer feedback to drive product improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable product plans.
  • Agile Expertise: Understanding of agile methodologies and frameworks. Experience in prioritizing and managing product backlogs, sprint planning, and release management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant technical tools and platforms, with the ability to understand technical complexities and constraints.
  • Travel: Willing to travel up to 10% per year to support the seamless execution of in-person conferences.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 92,000 USD - 130,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
