POSITION SUMMARY
This role is solely responsible for troubleshooting all production machinery throughout the warehouse. Clean and maintain production equipment, replace bearings, motors, gearboxes, belt chains, shafts, and conveyors as well as some building maintenance such as painting and repairing facilities, restroom fixtures, and lighting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and machinery throughout the plant
- Use critical thinking skills and a troubleshooting approach to electrical, and equipment maintenance (electrical controls, motor circuits, process and packaging machinery, programmable controllers, and pneumatic components)
- Perform major mechanical repairs on equipment associated with manufacturing
- Work from detail prints, and verbal instructions to repair/replace AC/DC motors, drives, controllers
- Perform preventative maintenance to production equipment, troubleshoot, and repair
- Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine maintenance
- Remove and replace motors, gearboxes, chain gears, motors, belts, and bearings
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, CDC, GMP, and other company safety and environmental policies and guidelines
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned outside of the specialty area
- Other projects/duties as assigned by the Manager
- Basic knowledge in all industrial maintenance disciplines, electrical troubleshooting, electrical power/controls, and engineering concepts including hydraulic and mechanical systems, problem-solving, logical thinking, and safety practices
- Textile maintenance experience (sewing, automation etc.), preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA Standards as well as local, state, and federal Environmental Standards/Laws
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
- Self-motivated in all areas of responsibility
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds while using safe lifting practices
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities, work in varying facility conditions including hot temperatures, and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and respond with the appropriate sense of urgency
