The Kitchen Helper assists the Head Chef in preparing food and maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen at LongSpar Ranch. This position is pivotal in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist in food preparation, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by properly washing and drying all dishes, sanitizing surfaces and disposing of kitchen waste. Neatly putting away all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards.
  • Remove garbage, replace garbage bags, and wash garbage cans.
  • Mop and sweep the kitchen areas.
  • Assist kitchen staff to unload food supplies from delivery trucks.
  • Store ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety standards.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of six months related kitchen experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain Food handler's license within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Required to lift 20 lbs.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects.
