This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more experienced colleagues, team lead, supervisor, and/or manager. This position focuses on engineering support and some drafting duties. These duties are a combination of the following:
* Provides support to the engineering teams by organizing materials and creating new folder structures for projects.
* Manages the SharePoint site and coordinates material deliveries for engineering partners.
* Organizes materials received, reviews, uploads and properly archives these materials in our EDMS following existing protocols and procedures to avoid overwriting current work.
* Organizes materials to be delivered to other groups within LCRA and external partners/customers.
* Helps issue "For Construction" documents and drawings.
* Updates drawings based on field edits.
* Reads and interprets engineering drawings, construction drawings and other technical information.
* Assists in drafting drawings using established procedures, formats, and templates.
* Assists with office research related to field measurements, historical engineering drawings, equipment databases, microfilm, inventory, electronic document management system (EDMS) records and other technical records to design equipment and layouts.
* Performs data entry in the departmental engineering database.
* Operates equipment, such as plotters, printers, copiers and scanners.
