Summary

The Expediting group assists Procurement, Operations and the Engineering and Construction Departments in ensuring the required goods ordered on an Energy Transfer purchase order arrive at the agreed location, to the agreed quality, and to the contractual delivery date. It is the responsibility of the Expediting group to track materials as defined in the critical order matrix and provide updates to all involved parties. Expediting is also responsible for providing the Logistics team with the information they need to schedule transportation of materials to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of materials. This allows Project Management and Procurement personnel to focus on core job responsibilities, by delegating certain vendor interactions to a focused group of Expeditors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports Expediting Manager and other Expediting Specialists to manage the production and delivery process for project and materials
  • Assist internal and external clients including Buyers and Project Managers during the manufacturing/fabrication process to ensure that materials are completed on time and as per PO requirements
  • Obtaining production/delivery schedule of significant milestones
  • Reviews contractual commitments, customer specifications, and related information to determine the proper expediting support requirements
  • Confirms PO details with Vendor including shipping terms for critical or major equipment - engineered equipment, fabrications, skids, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison between Vendor, Buyer, Project Manager and Logistics
  • Follows up on drawing approvals
  • Coordinates inspection schedules when necessary
  • Identifies potential risk and problem areas and provide recommended solutions to the Buyer and Project Team
  • Arrange transport with Less than Truck Load (LTL) and Small Package/Ground carriers
  • Keeps accurate and timely records as required by customer, company policies and procedures

Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills and abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Background in Expediting procedures and support tactics
  • Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years of experience required
  • Experience in the Expediting field or related areas in the oil and gas industry is a plus
  • Be highly organized and results driven and the ability to coordinate multiple projects, tasks and programs simultaneously
  • Be able to handle a strenuous workload in a fast- paced environment
  • Time management, organizational skills and have a strong attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to work as part of a team a must as well as the ability to work independently as required
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills for determining and providing expediting support and solutions

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
