*Work schedule is 9:00am to 6:00pm (Monday through Friday)

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Human Resources department with providing guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the Human Resources department. The HR Coordinator's main responsibility is to assist the HR manager in every aspect of human resources by responding to the queries of employees. In addition, the HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting supervisors with payroll, time-keeping records, assisting with recruiting, and onboarding for new hires, completing reference and background checks and drug screens, employee engagement, and supporting projects assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Duties:
  • Recruiting - Support team in scheduling and/or performing phone screens and interviews on candidates.
  • Deliver orientation and onboarding sessions as required for new hires.
  • Running, Inputting, and Maintaining HR reports for the lab leadership.
  • Creating, Monitoring, and administering employee badges.
  • Assist with addressing employees' Human Resource related questions and concerns.
  • Assist with employee relations matters by meeting with employees / leadership and conducting investigations.
  • Assist the leadership team with resolving payroll time and attendance issues.
  • Submit any employee changes to HQ Payroll including the following: new hires, terminations, department changes, time off (PTO, sick, leave of absence), employee data changes, salary changes, and other miscellaneous payroll changes.
  • Complete data entry into the HRIS systems.
Secondary Duties:
  • Assist with the company's employee engagement initiative.
  • Develop and implement ideas for improvements in employee relations.
  • Support the Human Resources Manager in general communications and campaigns including organizational announcements, survey updates, and wellness campaigns.
  • Perform other duties or complete special projects as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in training and development or Human Resources preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years clerical, secretarial or administrative experience required.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources strongly preferred within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work some evening hours as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Bilingual, Speaking Spanish, and English required.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to observe the posted safety requirements in the areas they are working.
  • Through understanding of Hoya's Injury and Illness Prevention Program and safety policies
  • Closed toe and heel shoes are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
