THE ROLE: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

As an Operations Manager with Presidio, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight for our client. Tasked with managing a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, this role ensures the delivery of services. You will maintain professionalism, act as an escalation point and subject matter expert, and proactively manage high-priority issues and operational improvements. You possess strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with Network, Data Center and Data Protection technologies, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management.

Travel Requirements:

This role will be based onsite 5 days a week in the nearby Irving, TX area. This position does not require any travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The individual will be pivotal in facilitating decision-making processes by identifying and engaging the appropriate team members necessary for resolving operational challenges efficiently and effectively.
  • Work directly with a single client and manage the team of engineers and technicians according to the agreement that is in place between the client and Presidio.
  • Deliver the services outlined with the scope of work while working in unison with the Service Delivery Manager that is also assigned to the account.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and maintain availability while working at the client location in Richardson, TX.
  • Act as an escalation point and SME between various functional groups within our Managed Service organization and our client's staff to ensure the seamless and cohesive delivery of technical services.
  • Continuously monitor operational dashboards and Webex communication spaces to swiftly identify and engage appropriate team members for high-priority issues that may impact our client. In instances where issues fall within their area of expertise and capability, the Manager is expected to take immediate action to resolve these concerns directly.
  • Champion the development and refinement of best practices and policies specific to our client's operational standards and ensure their dissemination and adoption through Presidio's Knowledge Base.
  • Proactively identify gaps in service coverage for our client and propose comprehensive solutions to senior leadership, aiming to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Leveraging their technical background, the Manager will continue to provide hands-on assistance as their responsibilities allow.
  • Proactively attend CAB calls and speak intelligently to changes being performed by the Presidio Managed Services team.
  • The Manager will continually expand their expertise and knowledge in areas relevant to our client's evolving needs, thereby fostering personal growth, and contributing to our service expansion.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Exhibits exceptional interpersonal skills, with a capacity for effective engagement across various levels of client engineering and management teams, enhancing relationship management.
  • Ability to work with offshore engineering teams and identify gaps in support and work with leadership to replace or retrain current offshore staffing.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills with a proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects while maintaining composure and effectiveness under high-pressure situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be proactive and take initiative.
  • General familiarity with Data Center technologies and Data Protection solutions, understanding their application and benefits in maintaining operational integrity.
  • General familiarity with Microsoft and Linux products and solutions as well as understanding the many roles that these devices play within the environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple resources across multiple different verticals.
  • Proficient in the understanding of Data Center operations, including virtualization, storage solutions, cloud services, and Data Protection strategies and solutions.
  • Possesses a broad understanding of IP networking principles and advanced network security practices, including mastery of TCP/IP, subnetting, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical roles with the ability to effectively communicate and converse on a wide range of subjects beyond their immediate technical expertise, facilitating broad-minded solutions and fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to be on-call and handle escalations appropriately - including potentially driving escalation calls after-hours or on weekend when necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
  • We seek a minimum of 10 years broad-based experience in IT with an emphasis on the management of network infrastructure, security solutions, and data center technologies, including LAN, WAN, Internet services environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT management.
  • Holds current Cisco certifications or relevant experience, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise in network security and management (CCNP Preferred)
