PT Peer Support Advisor (Grant Funded)

Position Requirements

Specific position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The recruitment, onboarding, and training of student peer support mentors.
  • Provide direct supervision to peer mentors.
  • Facilitate the organizations of on-campus and virtual student led education and awareness events.
  • Serve as point of contact for San Jacinto College peer support services.
  • Promote peer support services to the campus community and students.
  • Track and maintain program data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of student support services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare written and electronic documents.
  • Ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and report activities conducted.
  • Ability to travel to meetings, other campus locations, and administrative offices.
  • Knowledge of FERPA laws and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate and present to large audiences.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of one-year (part time and/or nonprofessional) experience in student activities, university center, community outreach, basic needs assessment, community resources, or closely related experience including social support programming.

This is a grant funded position.

Salary Grade: CLERI

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
