Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Engineer

Department: Facilities

Summary: The Facilities Engineer will provide skill and advice in surface facilities, engineering design, and execution. Candidates will need to be knowledgeable in the creation and development of specifications for all equipment in upstream operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop equipment specifications & preventative maintenance guidelines
  • Develop sustainable work practices and designs related to the reduction of emissions and spills
  • Develop process enhancement models covering all aspects of upstream O&G facilities
  • Conduct facility meetings with field personnel to target ideas for facilities optimization and efficiency improvement
  • Communicate with Operations and Reservoir Engineers to determine the current and future volume requirements of facilities
  • Coordinate with Reservoir, Geology, Drilling, and Completions to develop plans for future infrastructure projects
  • Provide Facilities Engineering input into existing and new assets ensuring both design and operational requirements are complied with and are maintained and upgraded as necessary
  • Evaluate operating efficiency of all existing facilities in an attempt to identify savings
  • Minimize any loss of production revenue through innovative techniques, procedures, and equipment
  • Develop annual capital facility budgets and strategic plans
  • Develop a long-range facilities plan
  • Develop annual lease facilities operating expense budgets
  • Develop annual preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently
  • May require frequent visits to field locations

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or relevant discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience with oil and natural gas production facilities
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience of formulating and developing Facilities engineering designs into scopes of work for new and existing assets in an economical manner
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working closely and communicating effectively with other critical functions in the company such as HSE, Operations, Production, Drilling, and Reservoir.
  • Must have experience writing, editing, proofing, or establishing equipment specifications for upstream oil and gas operations.
  • Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and time pressures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the Permian Basin
  • Two (2) years of previous experience with SiteView, Wellview, and Spotfire preferred
  • Motivated self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ideally has developed tankless batteries with startup and operations experience
