JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Sourcing under the leadership of the Senior Manager, SS&P will assume a lead role in developing and implementing portfolio/category of spend based sourcing strategies based on existing spend, demand and supply challenges, marketplace conditions, and ensuring alignment with the Business Unit (BU) objectives. The Manager will be responsible for formulating cross-functional relationships to ensure that GST (Gulf States Toyota) is leveraging supplier spend, resources, and supplier performance management in support of our strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Actively support the company's vision/strategies, and constantly demonstrate leadership and accountability.
  • Demonstrate business courage and develop new and creative ideas to ensure SS&P business value and capture operational and cost efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key GST associates and decision makers.
  • Participate, understand, and act upon GST's short/long term strategic and tactical objectives/plans.
  • Responsible for proactive communications to customer and for customer satisfaction, including supplier performance monitoring/reporting.
  • Develop and introduce Category/Portfolio Mgmt. strategy/plan and value to GST through optimizing supplier base, reliability, risk reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for needs assessment, opportunity identification/assessment, and business case development for sourcing opportunities.
  • Support Sr Manager of SS&P in development of long-term sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional team through SS&P processes (Spend Assessment, Needs Analysis, Market Assessment, Supplier Qualification, RFI/RFP, Fact Based Negotiations, and Contracting).
  • Ensure procurement and sourcing complies with all corporate policies and controls.
  • Responsible for working with GST subject matter specialists to gather and assess business requirements.
  • Lead supplier selection / recommendation activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Secure and ensure successful implementation of contracts and supplier transitions.
  • Identifies cost savings, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities while maintaining/increasing quality, service and mitigating risk.
  • Collaborations with Legal Department to ensure GST risks are mitigated, and responsible for maintaining agreement documents.
  • Manage procure-to-pay process across multiple categories including issue resolution with suppliers.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently does not have any direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree with 8+ years' experience in the field or in a related area or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in contract development, commercial negotiations, developing sourcing delivery strategies, category/commodity management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supplier Analysis- assess qualitative/quantitative supplier characteristics including- capabilities, sustainability of supply, business/financial strength, quality, and service.
  • E-procurement experience, preferably SAP, or similar system.
  • In-depth knowledge of variety of procurement value added approaches (e.g. RFx, consumption reduction, value engineering etc.)
  • Knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures, with the ability to negotiate best terms and pricing.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required daily to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate is frequently required to travel to our other sites, where applicable, for business purposes. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The duties for this position occur in various places including, but not limited to an office environment and semi-industrial settings. The associate will regularly be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level for this position will vary and the associate may be exposed to loud noise levels.

SCHEDULE:

Gulf States Toyota currently operates on a 4 day in office, 1 day work from home Hybrid schedule.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

The job can involve domestic travel (up to 50% of the time) within the Houston TX region. The associate may be frequently required to travel to other sites, where applicable, for business purposes.
