Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an experienced Electrician at our Camden, Texas lumber mill. This highly skilled role creates value by performing a variety of electrical systems and maintenance duties, while ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals.

This position comes with a $2500 sign-on bonus!


Our Team

The Camden, TX facility manufactures Southern Yellow Pine Lumber used in both residential and commercial construction. The procurement of our lumber is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. These products have a long-standing reputation for being strong, reliable, and consistent, making them the preferred product on many construction sites. What You Will Do

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems, PLC's, electronic circuits, motor controls, relay logic, AC/DC drives and low voltage switchgear.
  • Install and make changes to industrial electrical equipment.
  • Work with mechanical and electrical machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, performing electrical preventative maintenance tasks (PM's).
  • Repair and maintain plant machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Effectively communicate work performed and equipment statuses both written and verbally.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participate in the safety program.
  • Wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots and other PPE required by specific jobs.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, on-call, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    At least two (2) years of electrical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environmentExperience reading electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprints.Experience diagnosing mechanical and electronic systems using scanning and diagnostic tools, multi-meters, and computers.Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC's, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives.Knowledge and experience of single and 3-phase troubleshooting up to 480-volt electrical systems.Experience running rigid conduit.


    What Will Put You Ahead

      Technical degree or higher in electro-mechanical curriculum.Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
