This is a part-time teaching position that contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

About the College

Founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges, the College of Arts & Sciences is comprised of 15 departments, offering a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and natural sciences. The College has more than 10,000 students enrolled representing more than a quarter of the overall Texas Tech University student population while maintaining a 22:1 student to faculty ratio.

About the Department/School/Area

The Department of English is a diverse, dynamic, and interdisciplinary department with 45 tenure-line faculty and undergraduate and graduate degree programs in English and in Technical Communication and Rhetoric. Tenure-line faculty in the department teach a 2/2 at both the undergraduate and graduate level, in onsite, hybrid, and online modalities. The Technical Communication and Rhetoric program offers a BA, MA, and PhD in onsite, hybrid, and online delivery modalities. We also offer graduate certificates in Grants & Proposals and in Teaching Technical Communication. With around 120 students in our robust graduate program, our 14 faculty have opportunities to teach graduate courses in our areas of interest. Our program affords excellent facilities, including communication-rich classrooms, and opportunities to conduct research through the User Experience Lab, the Media Lab, and the Letterpress Studio. Teaches undergraduate courses in first-year composition and other undergraduate English courses.
