JOB SUMMARY Performs engineering design and assignments with clear and specified objectives utilizing engineering knowledge of electrical theory, the National Electric Code, and other applicable standards and codes. Prepares and reviews engineering drawings, load calculations, and technical specifications. Prepares and reviews BIM modelling of electrical installations. Prepares and reviews cost estimates for electrical projects utilizing RSMeans, Accubid, or similar estimation tools. Prepares and reviews cost estimates for design changes. Solicits and evaluates cost proposals from vendors and subcontractors. Due to cleared DoD facilities, applicants must be a USA Citizen.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES
Prepares and reviews engineering drawings for projects in progress involving electrical installations.
Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs
Nurtures existing client relationships and identifies opportunities for new business
Assist AutoCAD Designers when they are working on electrical designs

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to project a client-centric, “can-do” approach to project work
Well-developed client communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables
Ability to review detailed drawings with an analytical approach and to research and present design options
Knowledge and skills with AutoCAD and Revit
Knowledge of power systems, voltage drop and fault current calculations, harmonics associated with power electronics or telecommunications systems, and general electrical design for the commercial and government environment
Familiarity with code and compliance issues relative to the industry
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Travel nationally and internationally for site surveys and drawing review meetings as needed
EDUCATION /CERTIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
4+ years of experience in electrical design of commercial projects
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
PE or EIT with plans to earn PE preferred
Experience working on project teams
Ability to secure and maintain Department of Defense Security Clearance required
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background) and have a valid driver’s license
