ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION EDUCATION
The Department of Teacher Education at Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Curriculum and Instruction Education. Positions are expected to begin in January 2024.
The Curriculum and Instruction Education Program and the Department of Teacher Education has an appreciation for a multidisciplinary environment and a commitment to excellence that creates educational pathways for underserved communities.
The Curriculum and Instruction Education Program resides in the TWU Department of Teacher Education. It offers courses in the undergraduate B.S. in Education degree, courses in the graduate Master of Arts in Teaching degree, and courses in the post-baccalaureate program that leads to initial teacher certification. It also offers the M.Ed. in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum as well as courses leading to the Ph.D. in Education, Leading, and Collaboration. Additionally, courses in Curriculum and Instruction may constitute a minor in undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

Texas Woman's University occupies a notable position in higher education as the nation's largest university primarily for women. Established in 1901, TWU is a doctoral/research-intensive public university which emphasizes the liberal arts and sciences as well as specialized and professional studies in business, nursing, health sciences, and education. About 10% of the university's nearly 16,000 students are men, who have been admitted to the University's graduate programs since 1972 and undergraduate programs since 1994.
TWU operates three campuses: Houston, Dallas, and the main campus in Denton (population 115,000), located 40 miles north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This metroplex, the nation's fourth-largest urban center, has world-class museums, orchestras, opera, ballet, theater companies, as well as an array of professional and collegiate sports venues. THE POSITION
The position is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track appointment. Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field. Must be well-versed in the foundations and methodologies of Curriculum and Instruction education and have a minimum of 3 years of public-school teaching experience at the K-12 level. The successful candidate must have a teaching, scholarship, and service record appropriate for the rank (described below). The successful candidate must have appreciation for a multidisciplinary environment and commitment to excellence.
