Position Overview

This position will have leadership responsibility overseeing the structural and graphic requirements of the business. Individuals in this role will be responsible for creating temporary point of purchase displays, protective and e-commerce packaging utilizing corrugated containerboard as the primary substrate. To be successful in this position, the candidate must be a leader who is innovative and able to tap into their creative problem-solving skills while supporting our customers, sales,customer service and other designers to develope cost effective, unique and purpose-built solutions. Candidates must be able to visualize in 3D while working in both 2D and 3D to create prototypes that drive cost effective solutions to resolve customer challenges.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Leadership:

Oversees structural and graphic design teams

Possesses a strong sense of drive that cultivates and supports a winning atmosphere

Responsible for creating physical prototypes utilizing our CAD cutting table

Maintains accurate specifications through organized file management and record keeping

Works closely with sales team to collect and process information to meet customer's requirements

Travels to customers as needed for project completion and to support and build customer relations

Maintains relative testing protocols such as Hazmat, ISTA and big box/ecommerce customers

Manages individual and departmental workloads for assigned projects

Ensures timely completion of projects to satisfy internal and external customer requirements

Supports customer service and production in processing new item orders to ensure all new items meet customer expectations

Complies with Green Bay Packaging Inc. policies and procedures

Supports additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in packaging, design or engineering is perferred with 5-10 years experience within the paper or corrugated industries.

In depth working knowledge of Artios, CAD Adobe Illustrator, Tops palletizing software and Microsoft Office and its applications

Familiarity with retailer specifications, shipping guidelins,print production and manufacturing processes

Knowledge of box plant machinery, tooling and processes including scoring,machine capabilities/limitations, specification sheets and drawings

Knowledge of linerboard and board grade combinations as well as corrugating and printing processes

Experence in operating sample cutting tables

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Possess the ability to work independently as well as in team based environments to reach company goals

Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Possess a positive attitude and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and customers
