Job Scope
The Engineering Technician I, Depot Services will be responsible for:
* Perform diagnostic and repair services on Luminex instrumentation for end-users, partners, distributors, and internal customers using opto-electrical, opto-mechanical, and fluidic disciplines
* Document repair services, labor hours, and part inventories within the Luminex data management system.
* Must be capable of thriving in fast paced ISO 13485 and FDA regulated medical device environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize processing of RMA instruments from unpackaging, decontamination, troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, testing, and re-packaging of Luminex instruments
- Ensure safety, quality, work order documentation, and service practices follow Luminex approved procedures.
- Deliver timely and accurate completion of manufacturing sections of process documentation and related business system transactions.
- Ensure accurate sequencing of work order status, visual status labeling, and physical product movement from staging through repair and final move to finished goods
- Ensure timely documentation completeness and work order solving
- Provide review and verification of product documentation on certified product lines
- Document and process non-conformances
- Participate in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training; maintain current and effective training to product specific certifications, released service documentation, service manuals, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting the Depot Services
- Deliver timely and accurate completion of inventory cycle counts.
- Deliver timely maintenance and calibration of assigned measuring and monitoring devices.
- Monitor select non-inventory supplies and generate purchase requisitions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of depot operating and storage areas.
- Fulfill performance goals.
- Maintain personal compliance and facilitate departmental compliance with the Quality System.
- Adhere to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements
- Assist in executing projects targeting efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvements.
- Support investigations and resolution of findings identified through audits, non-conformances, key performance indicator trends, corrective/preventive actions, or customer complaints escalation.
- Perform other department duties assigned as deemed necessary.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent required or
- 1+ Years related experience and training required
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Understanding with compliance to ISO, FDA and other regulatory agencies as well as quality process management and implementation
- BOM principles and process improvement, standard manufacturing practices, workmanship/quality standards and practices
- Proficiency using standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM's, signal generators, power meters, and AC/DC power supplies
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- The ability to organize work in an efficient manner, in addition to the ability to work well under stress and time pressures
- Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematic diagrams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Lifting/Use of Strength (20 to 50 pounds) - Occasionally
